Live Internet feed of Village Meetings! | #1 |

What is everyone’s opinion about live internet feed of Village Board meetings, Planning commission meetings, committee meetings and other public meetings? As well as live, they could be archived for up to a year for later reference.
A local gentleman has almost volunteered to provide and set up the equipment and website pages. State Statutes allow for audio or visual recordings and transmissions of meetings that are open to the public. Would you watch it and find it useful? Or would the guy be wasting his time? |

I would also watch. I would post the URL in the Downtown Tales so everyone can see what is going on with the Village. It may slow down some of the rumors!

Lets take a poll. Could everyone give opinions about live Village Board Meetings broadcast on the Internet. If there are no reasonable objections, I will pursue the idea. I would need at least 25 people behind it to convince the powers that are, to co-operate and allow use of the Village internet feed to do it.

I fixed the poll for you ed1 and allowed it until Jan 31, 2010. Only registered members can see it and participate. The poll is the opinion of the general pecfacts community and it is not an official village poll in any way.

Looks like this is going to get done. PecWeb has a link to a village meeting webcam. Looks like the village is going to try this out and see how it goes. I'll get some details.

Where is it posted how to watch the Pec. Board meetings? Someone saw it in the Rockford paper but said they could not get the meeting. Are the 'how to' coverage listed somewhere? I might have missed something...........Thanks Rick

The easiest way is to "Google" Pecatonica. The top hit is the PecWeb. There are several links directly from the PecWeb, just scroll down and click on one of those.
